Jaimee AI's Approach to Context Engineering, Sentiment, and Women's Emotional Health

Introduction
Jaimee AI, an AI companion, is addressing a critical gap in emotional wellness for adult women, particularly frontline workers in high-stress, service-oriented roles like childcare, nursing, cleaning, and hospitality. These individuals often shoulder immense emotional burdens while navigating the dual pressures of professional and personal care responsibilities, often without access to meaningful support.
Jaimee AI provides a safe, non-judgmental digital space for connection and validation, where women can vent, talk through challenges or simply enjoy some playful banter to help escape the daily stress.
Challenging Gender Bias in AI
Jaimee AI is not only a tool for emotional wellness but also a response to the gender bias deeply embedded in AI systems. The platform was founded on the recognition that many AI models are trained predominantly on male-centric datasets, leading to responses that often fail to reflect women's lived experiences.
Jaimee AI challenges this imbalance by prioritizing women-centered data to inform its interactions; this began with modeling the communication style on that of the female developers and is being extended into identifying male bias or sexist language in the chat and removing it from the training data.
The goal is twofold: to create an AI companion that genuinely resonates with female users and to contribute to the broader movement of making AI more inclusive. Behind this vision are co-founders Sreyna Rath (CEO) and Camilla Cooke (CMO), who have championed a mission to build AI that serves women authentically and equitably. By fostering an alternative to hyper-sexualized or one-dimensional portrayals of women in AI, Jaimee AI ensures that its users—whether seeking friendship, mentorship, or romance—engage with a system designed with their needs in mind.
Behind this groundbreaking tool is Zep AI, whose context engineering, sentiment analysis, and security capabilities enable Jaimee AI to achieve its mission while meeting the high technical standards required to build user trust and engagement.

Jaimee AI faced three core technical challenges in its development
No Concept of Time or Follow-Through
Users would share something important—a stressful week at work, an upcoming event they were anxious about—but Jaimee couldn't follow up later. The AI had no way to remember 'check in with Sarah about her job interview next Tuesday.'
Generic Emotional Responses
Early versions of Jaimee gave the same supportive responses regardless of what users actually shared. Without understanding the emotional context of each conversation, responses felt hollow rather than genuinely supportive.
Trust Requires Real Security
Users share their most vulnerable moments with Jaimee. The platform needed SOC 2 compliance and enterprise-grade security—not just for corporate pilots, but because users deserve to know their private conversations stay private.

Building the Right Companion with Zep AI
To address these challenges, Jaimee AI partnered with Zep AI to enhance prompting, functionality, and user experience. During the beta phase, the team piloted the platform with numerous users and iterated on engagement metrics and UX design throughout their time at Techstars Sydney Accelerator program.
User feedback pointed to one clear gap: emotional resonance required follow-through. Users wanted Jaimee to remember what they shared and check in later—not just respond in the moment. This drove the integration with Zep's context engineering platform.
Conversations That Continue
Zep's temporal knowledge graph gives Jaimee a sense of time. When a user mentions an upcoming job interview, Jaimee can follow up days later: "How did the interview go?" This makes emotional support feel genuine—not just reactive.
SOC 2 Compliance Out of the Box
Zep provides enterprise-grade security without Jaimee having to build it. SOC 2 Type 2 compliance means corporate pilots can proceed confidently, and users know their private conversations stay private.
Looking Ahead
Jaimee AI recently launched on the app store, marking a significant milestone in its mission to improve emotional wellness. With an oversubscribed waitlist and upcoming corporate pilots, Jaimee AI will continue integrating user insights to refine and expand its offerings.
Deeper User Understanding
Zep's knowledge graph will track emotional patterns over time—recognizing when users are stressed about recurring issues versus one-time events, and adjusting support accordingly.
Custom Model Training
Jaimee plans to train their own LLM, using Zep's context infrastructure to provide the training data needed for bias-free, women-centered AI guardrails.
Why Jaimee Chose Zep Over Building In-House
A two-person team couldn't build context infrastructure while shipping an app. Zep let them focus on what matters.
To integrate, not months to build
Compliance included, no audit needed
On the product, not infrastructure
The Partnership
With Zep's context engineering, Jaimee AI delivers emotionally intelligent support at scale—secure enough for enterprise pilots, personal enough to build real trust with users.
The result: an AI companion that remembers what matters, follows up when it counts, and helps more women engage with AI on their own terms.
